A single stone around 40 lbs (18.1kg) was observed to fall about 3/4 miles from Zagami Rock in Katsina, Nigeria on October 3, 1962. It has been classified as a Martian basalt (shergottite) meteorite.
Martian meteorites remain today some of the rarest and most sought after specimens for meteorite collectors.
