NWA 8008 L4 Meteorite

Northwest Africa 8008 was a single stone meteorite of 1639 grams. It was immediately recognized as being a low petrologic type when first cut. Analysis determined that it was an L4. As expected with that classification it has many sharply defined chondrules. NWA 8008 is a meteorite that will provide plenty of visual enjoyment under a microscope or hand lens. Much of the metal in NWA 8008 is gone and it has received a W5 weathering grade. But its chondrules are numerous and distinct, a delight to study.
