L6 Chondrite
This meteorite has two different types of inclusions one of dark gray and one cement colored. They are generally rounded and vary greatly in size from a few millimeters to two or three centimeters. The cement colored inclusions are basically featureless masses. The matrix shows spotty discoloration from weathering. It also has the distinction of being one of the meteorites that has been used for research. It was fired at with an aluminum projectile using the NASA Ames Vertical Gun. The impact of the projectile traveling at approximately 5 km per second disintegrated the meteorite sending particles into aerogel where they were captured and later collected for analysis.
