The NWA 787 meteorite was purchased in Casablanca, Morocco in 2001. 30 kilograms of NWA 787 were recovered as many pieces. NWA 787 is an brecciated chondrite type L3-6. Through NWA 787 is predominately composed of type 6 chondrite clasts, there is material from other less altered chondrite types seen as well. Sparse, isolated enstatite-rich chondrules are present in the breccia, but no forsterite-rich chondrules were found during classification.
NWA 787 has a W1 weathering grade and displays a quite fresh interior with only scattered brown halos around some metal grains. There is fusion crust remaining on the many of the pieces. NWA 787 has a shock stage of S2.
