NWA 5080 CV3
Find / Fall: Find – 2004
Location: Northwest Africa
Classification: CV3
Total Known Weight: 235 g
NWA 5080 is an excellent Carbonaceous Chondrite from a visual standpoint. It is packed with varying sizes of distinct chondrules of all colors. By close inspection with a hand lens some of the chondrule types can be determined. Some slices have inclusions of finer grained dark gray material containing only the occasional very tiny chondrule. CAIs are present. Rarely, there is metal inside a chondrule as scattered grains. Classified as a CV3 there was only one 235 gram stone found in the Saharan Desert.
