The Fukang Meteorite was recovered in China in the year 2000 as a single large mass weighing slightly over one ton. The Fukang meteorite has been classified as a stony-iron pallasite. Pallasites make up a small percentage of the total number of meteorites and are a mixture of olivine crystals and nickel iron metal. The crystals of the Fukang meteorite can be as small as a few millimeter to as larger as several centimeters. The beautiful translucent crystals are striking when viewed with backlighting. They are clear and have a wonderful color. The metal surrounding the crystals etches beautifully. This is an exquisite meteorite that will enhance any meteorite collection.
